This full-time RN position offers a consistent Monday-Friday day schedule with no nights or weekends, providing excellent work-life balance. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to patients and families while practicing in accordance with Iowa Nursing Regulations, the ANA Code for Nurses, and UnityPoint Health's Professional Nurse Practice Model. Responsibilities include answering questions and providing teaching to patients and family members regarding health maintenance and medical illnesses, documenting information in the patient's electronic chart, scheduling referrals for patients, assessing needs of patients and families, assisting provider with patient examination, procedures and emergencies, providing and documenting advice for home care of illness/condition, performing diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures, demonstrating knowledge that patient and workplace safety is a priority, understanding testing values and relationship to patient status, demonstrating initiative to improve quality and customer service, understanding inpatient and outpatient specialty procedures, responsible for compliance with precertification requirements, utilizing protocols to triage and address patient concerns and symptoms, and maintaining inventory for clinical supplies.

Qualifications include at least one year of RN experience in an acute care or clinic setting, graduate of accredited nursing program, commitment to obtain OCN or seek oncology-specific continuing education within 2 years, maintain current licensure in to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa, and maintain BLS Oncology certification (OCN) preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities include writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English, multicultural sensitivity, critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions, and use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
