CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Senior Highway Engineer to join our Highway & Rail Team in Burlington, MA; Norwell, MA; Boston, MA; or Providence, RI . In this key role, you’ll provide technical leadership across significant transportation projects, guide and mentor developing engineers, and help deliver thoughtful, high-quality solutions that improve the safety, performance, and longevity of our transportation infrastructure. What You'll Do: Lead the technical execution of complex engineering designs, technical reports, and specifications for highway and rail projects Provide expert consultation and resolve highly complex technical issues across multidiscipline transportation projects Lead advanced technical projects, collaborating with other engineering departments and project management staff to deliver sustainable solutions Develop and manage discipline work plans aligned with project milestones, ensuring projects are completed within budget and scheduling restraints Guide and mentor junior engineering staff, including providing technical reviews and support Deliver technical development of proposals and external presentations to clients, public, and regulatory agencies What You Bring: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required Minimum of 10 years progressive engineering experience required Highway/roadway design experience required; hydraulic design experience preferred MassDOT design experience required Professional Engineer (PE) license required Expert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline with a proven ability to apply best practices Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, etc.) Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred Why You'll Love It Here: Bring your experience to prominent highway projects and tackle challenges that demand creative, practical solutions Build strong partnerships with multidisciplinary teams and transportation professionals across the region Grow your impact as a technical leader while remaining closely connected to engineering and project delivery Help develop the next generation of engineers through mentorship, knowledge sharing, and collaboration Curious about the impactful work our Highway & Rail team is doing? Salary Range: $115,000 - $140,000 Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
