It is great place to live and work if you enjoy the outdoors, sports, concerts, the arts and other big city amenities or technology.## What You Will DoUnder general supervision, provide support to a wide range of technologies used in Corporate Mine Operations, including Command Center and Remote Operations environments. May instruct other technicians in problem diagnosis, troubleshooting techniques, and repair procedures, as well as provide network infrastructure support with a strong emphasis on data communication systems, mining technology, reliability, monitoring and production systems, network clients, 2-way radios, and others.* Provide second-level end-user support by responding to Help Desk requests, assisting users with common issues, and helping promote appropriate use of technology within company and IS policies. In this role* assist in troubleshooting to diagnose and correct mine technology problems and escalate more complex or advanced problems to senior staff or specialized teams to minimize downtime. As the Technology Support Technician II* Support the installation and basic maintenance of IT hardware used for fleet management, safety systems, operational support equipment, network clients, and 2-way radios by following guidelines and direction from senior team members.* Perform preventative maintenance on supported technology, including all associated hardware, while maintaining accurate documentation* Maintain working technical knowledge of supported hardware and software* Follow approved procedures for hardware and software deployment, ensuring installations, updates, and configurations align with company standards and are completed efficiently using available tools* Assist with the creation and upkeep of technical documentation, including updating existing Standard Operating Procedures and recording support activities related to technology maintenance* Provide peer assistance and share knowledge with team members, including helping new staff understand basic procedures and support processes* Perform other duties as required.## What You Bring To Freeport* Four (4) years of experience in supporting and maintaining onboard technologies in mining or similar industrial environments AND one technical certification relevant to the role.OR* Six (6) years of experience in supporting and maintaining onboard technologies in mining or similar industrial environments.* Must be customer service-oriented and possess good organizational skills.* Ability to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts and both scheduled and unscheduled overtime as business dictates.* Advanced knowledge of technologies and processes used in the role* Experience mentoring/training other team members and owning role-related tasks* Proficient in the skills of problem solving and integrity/dependability* Functional skills of communication, teamwork, and influence/persuasion* Functional skills of self-management, driving for results, flexibility, confidence/stress tolerance, and maturation/commitment* Functional skills in client partnership/focus, process improvement/quality, business acumen, and organizational awareness* Functional skills in leadership of people and visionary leadership* Nominal skill in planning/project management* Functional skills of operations, client support, solution implementation, and security* Nominal skills in design/engineering and requirements analysis* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook* Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.## Preferred Qualifications* Ability to be on an On-Call support rotation for support* May be required to work a non-standard schedule which may include shift work (other than dayshift) in a 24/7/365 operation* High School diploma or GED* Associate’s degree in information technology or related field* Bachelor’s degree in MIS/IT related field* CompTIA Network+ or equivalent certification preferred* Rajant, Cisco or similar network certificationWhat We Offer YouThe estimated pay range for this role is currently $32.00 - $43.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
