IT TECHNICIAN

Location: San Antonio, TX
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Employment Type: Contract

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT Technician to provide technical support for Windows-based endpoints and computer systems. This position will troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade hardware, software, operating systems, network connectivity, printers, and overall computer performance.

Support may be provided directly at user locations or remotely through remote desktop assistance. The technician will also assist with computer imaging and deployment of equipment to users.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and Windows operating system issues.
• Diagnose network connectivity and printing problems.
• Troubleshoot computer performance issues and perform necessary upgrades or maintenance.
• Provide technical support at user locations and through remote desktop assistance.
• Image and deploy computers and other IT equipment to users.
• Install, maintain, and upgrade hardware and software.
• Transport and deploy institute-owned hardware between campus locations.
• Provide responsive and professional support to end users.
• Maintain organized documentation and follow established IT procedures.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of IT troubleshooting experience with Windows endpoints.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, operating systems, and network connectivity.
• Ability to work independently and interact professionally with end users.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Valid driver's license and clear MVR required.

Preferred Qualifications

• CompTIA A+ certification.
• Familiarity with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
• Experience with computer imaging and equipment deployment.

Physical Requirements

• Walk and/or drive between buildings across campus.
• Bend, kneel, crouch, and reach around or underneath furniture to access equipment.
• Reach overhead and around objects when installing or troubleshooting equipment.
• Stand and/or sit for extended periods.
• Lift up to 40 lbs. independently and up to 75 lbs. with assistance.

Driving Requirements

The technician will frequently transport institute-owned hardware between user locations on campus. A trailer is not required. Transportation may include an golf cart or institute vehicle .

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a dependable Level 2 IT professional with strong Windows endpoint troubleshooting skills, excellent communication, and the ability to provide both remote and hands-on technical support. Candidates should be comfortable working throughout a large campus, moving equipment, and supporting users in a fast-paced environment.
