Adjunct Faculty, Geography and Area Studies Job no: 495881 Work type: Regular Part-Time, Temporary Part-Time Location: Glassboro, New Jersey The Department of Geography, Planning, and Sustainability is seeking dedicated adjunct instructors in Human and Physical Geography, Area Studies, and Human‑Environment Interactions. The department is open to special topics proposed by adjuncts as well. Course sizes are relatively small, and students are committed and engaged. Courses are frequently offered in the evenings, but other scheduling options are available in consultation with the Chair of Geography, Planning, and Sustainability. Candidates must have a master’s degree, preferably in the field in which they are teaching. Work experience in the teaching field may be substituted for a master’s degree in the field, but a master’s degree is required. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States. The University will not sponsor a visa for this position. In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act and the current MOA, adjuncts are provided with a minimum of $1,975 per credit for all courses taught, with a maximum teaching load of 8 credits per semester and 12 credits in an academic year. Courses will be assigned to instructors by College & Department on an as‑needed basis.
