Principal Network Security Engineer

Responsibilities

• Identify vulnerabilities and gaps in network infrastructure, propose solutions, and drive implementation with infrastructure engineering teams.
• Design, develop, and optimize high-performance distributed systems and security solutions that protect networks from external threats and internal risks.
• Provide network-security design reviews and guidelines for Roblox tools, services, and platforms.
• Collaborate with Information Security and infrastructure engineering teams on network protection and platform security.

Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Proficiency writing high-performance code for large-scale distributed services in at least one language such as Golang or C++.
• Hands-on experience designing and building production-level networking and security services, including L4/L7 network proxies, load balancers, IDS/IPS, or firewalls.
• In-depth knowledge of network routing and protocols including TCP, UDP, DHCP, and DNS, as well as attack vectors, techniques, and remediations.
• Experience with advanced packet-processing technologies and frameworks such as DPDK and eBPF is a plus.
• Ability to build high-performance and reliable systems and work collaboratively through ambiguity.
