Overview TRC is seeking an ITS construction inspector to support our Construction, Engineering, and Inspection (CEI) office in Memphis, TN and surrounding areas of West TN. Responsibilities Monitor the contractor's on‑site construction activities to verify compliance with plans, specifications and special provisions for the construction contract. Maintain detailed records of the contractor's daily operations and events that affect the work and project schedule. A daily work report (DWR) must be recorded with TDOT’s DWR programs. Must be familiar with TDOT standard forms and procedures. Perform sampling and testing of component materials and completed work in accordance with the construction contract and TDOT Standard‑Operating‑Procedures. Samples must be taken and recorded using TDOT LIMS and standard forms. Capable of performing work independently and accurately. Ability to effectively communicate with team members. Qualifications Requirements: High school graduate or equivalent Five (5) years of experience in Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) construction inspection preferred. Other divisions of construction inspection such as roadway and/or bridge construction considered. Ability to travel and inspect work sites within a 2‑hour radius of Memphis, TN The following certifications are highly desirable or must be able to satisfactorily obtain post‑hire: 10‑Hour OSHA Construction Safety Work‑Zone Traffic Control/Flagging Certification TDOT Concrete Field Technician (Alternately, ACI Grade 1) TDOT Aggregate Technician Additional TDOT Technician Certifications are desirable but not mandatory Benefits Medical, dental, vision, and disability insurance. 401k package that includes both traditional and Roth IRA options and Company match. Compensation In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors. Other Compensation Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
