On-Call Hospice Registered Nurse

Responsibilities Respond promptly to after-hours calls from patients, families, and caregivers. Conduct patient assessments to evaluate pain, symptom management, and overall comfort. Administer medications, perform wound care, and assist with medical procedures as necessary. Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding end-of-life care. Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary hospice team, including physicians, social workers, chaplains, and volunteers. Ensure that arrangements for equipment and other necessary items and services are available. Communicate with the physician regarding the patient’s needs and reports changes in the patient’s condition; obtains/receives physicians’ orders as required. Maintain accurate and thorough patient records in compliance with hospice regulations, the organization’s policy, and best practices. Ensure the delivery of compassionate and culturally sensitive care tailored to each patient's unique needs. Participate in on-call rotation schedules, including weekends and holidays, to ensure 24/7 availability for patients. Requirements Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Georgia and current CPR certification. Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience, with previous hospice or palliative care experience preferred. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Compassionate and empathetic demeanor. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license. Willingness to work on-call shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. #J-18808-Ljbffr Jobtailor
