Job Description

Join Growing Up Green Middle School in LIC, Queens as a Lunch & Recess Aide. Lunch & Recess Aides will spend most of their time supervising and supporting children during lunch and recess times, 20 hours per week

Resposibilities

• Actively monitor children during lunch
• Follow our lunch systems and routines to ensure students are eating safely
• Establish and maintain a safe and healthy nurturing environment for children
• Resolve conflicts and issues between students
• Discipline students who are misbehaving
• Tidy-up tables and maintaining the kitchen
• Ensure students are following our healthy foods policy

Qualifications

• Desire to work with children
• Emotional maturity and stability
• Mental stamina to work positively with students
• Patient, flexible, positive, consistent, dependable, and cooperative
• Ability to take constructive feedback
• Experience in education is a plus
• Pay is $30 per hour, total of 20 hours per week, hours are 10:30am-2:30pm

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred

Required 

NYC DOE/Fingerprinting & Background Clearance prior to working in our school
