Medical Technologist

Medical Technologist Central Vermont Medical Center, Inc. seeks Medical Technologists (multiple openings) to work at Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin, VT, and perform routine and highly complex laboratory analyses on clinical specimens. Responsibilities Perform clinical and proficiency tests under the direct supervision of a qualified Manager. Conduct quality control procedures as required, evaluate QC results before clinical testing, record all QC results, and take necessary corrective actions. Accurately and efficiently utilize the Laboratory Information System (LIS), entering and monitoring QC data, daily backups, and status (pending) lists. Perform all routine scheduled equipment maintenance and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, completing all maintenance record-keeping documents. Collect or aid in the collection of patient specimens for testing. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Medical Technology or a directly related field. Ability to work independently on weekends, afternoons, and night shifts. Possession of an ICHP Visa Screen Certificate (if applicable). American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Board Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist.
