We are seeking a dedicated Optometrist to provide comprehensive eye care services to patients of all ages in an outpatient setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and treating vision-related conditions, prescribing corrective lenses and medications, educating patients, and promoting lifelong visual health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations.
- Evaluate visual acuity and visual fields.
- Diagnose vision and eye-related conditions.
- Assess patients for signs of ocular diseases and disorders.
- Prescribe corrective lenses as appropriate.
- Prescribe medications for ocular diseases and conditions.
- Educate patients on diagnoses, treatment options, products, and services to promote eye health.
- Accurately document examinations, treatment plans, prescriptions, and referrals.
- Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team.
- Maintain active licensure in good standing throughout employment.
- Complete required credentialing, re-credentialing, and mandatory training.
- Stay current with best practices and advancements in optometry through continuing education.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited school of optometry.
- Valid Maine Optometry License or eligibility to obtain one.
- New graduates may be considered; however, 2+ years of experience.
- Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of eye disorders, diseases, and treatment options.
