Head of Global Medical Affairs– OncologySolid Tumor OncologyLocation: Remote Travel: Approximately 20%Salary: $280-340k base plus bonus and equityScientific Search has partnered with an innovative clinical-stage biotechnology company that is searching for an Executive Director, Global Medical Affairs Lead – Oncology. This individual will lead the development and execution of the global Medical Affairs strategy for the company’s oncology portfolio and play an integral role in preparing for future commercialization.The ideal candidate will bring significant solid-tumor oncology experience, U.S. product launch experience, strong relationships with oncology KOLs, and experience supporting biomarker-driven therapies. Experience within gynecologic oncology is strongly preferred.This is an opportunity for an experienced Medical Affairs leader to have significant visibility and impact within a growing biotechnology organization while partnering closely with Clinical Development, Regulatory, Commercial, Market Access, and other cross-functional stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute the Global Medical Affairs strategy and Global Medical Plan for the oncology portfolio.Lead Medical Affairs activities supporting U.S. launch preparation and commercialization.Provide strategic medical and scientific leadership across the product lifecycle.Establish and maintain strong relationships with oncology KOLs, healthcare professionals, investigators, and other external stakeholders.Lead advisory boards and other external scientific engagements in support of the Global Medical Plan.Partner cross-functionally with Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial, Marketing, Market Access, and other functions to ensure alignment of medical strategy.Develop and oversee scientific and medical communications for healthcare professionals, payors, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders.Provide medical and scientific expertise supporting clinical development, regulatory submissions, and post-marketing activities.Support medical strategy surrounding biomarkers, patient identification, and the communication of biomarker-driven scientific data.Monitor the competitive landscape, emerging scientific data, and industry trends to inform Medical Affairs and broader corporate strategy.Represent the organization at scientific congresses, medical meetings, advisory boards, and other external events.Lead and develop the Global Medical Affairs team and help build the function as the organization and portfolio advance.Manage the Medical Affairs budget and ensure activities remain aligned with forecast and organizational priorities.Ensure Medical Affairs activities comply with applicable regulations, GCP, and industry standards.RequirementsMD, PhD, or PharmD with significant Medical Affairs and/or Clinical Development experience.Minimum of 10 years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience, including at least 5 years in Oncology Medical Affairs.Demonstrated U.S. oncology product launch experience.Significant experience within solid-tumor oncology; gynecologic oncology experience is strongly preferred.Established relationships with oncology KOLs and leading academic/clinical centers.Experience supporting biomarker-driven oncology programs, including the medical and scientific communication of biomarker data.Proven experience developing and executing Medical Affairs strategies and Medical Affairs plans.Strong understanding of oncology drug development and the intersection of Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Regulatory, Commercial, and Market Access.Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced biotechnology environment.Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and scientific presentation skills.Strong knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.Willingness to travel approximately 20%.Preferred Experience and SkillsDirect experience supporting Medical Affairs activities before, during, and following a U.S. oncology launch.Experience in gynecologic cancers, including relationships with relevant KOLs.Experience developing Medical Affairs strategy for precision medicine or biomarker-selected patient populations.Experience working within a smaller or emerging biotechnology company and building Medical Affairs capabilities as an organization prepares for commercialization.Demonstrated success translating complex clinical and biomarker data into effective scientific engagement strategies.How To ApplyWe’d love to see your resume, but we don’t need it to have a conversation.
