Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and versatile CDL licensed driver combined with a hardworking laborer to join our team. As a CDL driver & laborer, you will be responsible for driving tandem dump truck, providing labor when necessary, assisting in maintenance of trucks & equipment, and the occasional operating of heavy equipment. Wage will be based entirely on experience and capabilities. DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A CURRENT, VALID CDL, without an automatic restriction; a manual transmission CDL is required.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial CDL trucks to transport equipment, materials, and personnel to job sites while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Provide labor on the job such as shoveling, raking, taking grade with laser, laying pipe, loading & unloading equipment, fueling & greasing equipment, use of chainsaw, dragging brush, etc.
- General maintenance off the jobsite such as cleaning of trucks & equipment, brake adjustments, oil changes, greasing, observing and communicating truck & equipment needs and assisting in repairs.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed.
- Effective and respectful communication with coworkers and customers.
- Maintain CDL license in good, legal standing. This includes a clean driving record; and as a CDL licensee, you will be subject to random drug screenings and there is a ZERO drug/marijuana use tolerance.
Please be aware that, although the goal is to provide this position with full time (40 hours per week) work, it cannot be guaranteed. This position has a split wage; meaning there will be a larger hourly rate for driving/operating/laboring on the jobsite, and there will be a lesser hourly rate for basic duties done at the shop. This split wage provides the balance needed to keep full time work available in most cases and possibly year round. The more candidate can offer to help the success of the business, the more pay will be available. We look forward to meeting you!!
