Job Summary: The Environmental Services Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the environmental services (EVS) operations of the facility, ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment. This role includes staff management, regulatory compliance, and support for facility improvement efforts. How you'll contribute: A Environmental Services Supervisor who excels at this role: Clean patient rooms, restrooms, lounges, offices, corridors, walls, and windows per schedule. Perform floor care including vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping; restock restrooms and clean fixtures. Operate cleaning equipment and machinery such as vacuums, mini extractors, and hand trucks. Inspect and evaluate the hospital's physical condition and recommend repairs, painting, and space utilization changes. Hire, train, evaluate, and discipline EVS personnel according to policy. Schedule EVS staff to ensure adequate coverage throughout the hospital. Develop and implement orientation and ongoing training programs for staff. Participate in hospital Safety Committees. Ensure compliance with JCAHO, federal, state, and local regulations and cleanliness standards. Performs other duties as assigned. What we are looking for: Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience: Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience required; experience in an acute care setting preferred. Skills: Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing; able to interact with patients, visitors, and staff professionally.
