Processing Crew Lead – Egg Central Station Vital Farms is looking for a Processing Crew Lead to bridge the gap from local family farms to grocery stores. As a key leader on the 12‑hour shifts, you will manage the daily workflow, develop operators, enforce safety and food‑quality standards, and drive continuous improvement. Working Hours & Pay • 12‑hour shifts: Day crew 6am‑6pm, Night crew 6pm‑6am. • Shift schedule: Week1 – 2days on / 2days off / 3days on; Week2 – 2days off / 2days on / 3days off. • Pay: Day crew $22.25/hr; Night crew $22.25/hr (+$3.00 shift differential). Key Responsibilities Organize workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules. Set daily, weekly, and monthly objectives and communicate them to employees. Lead and develop operators, creating equipment and system ownership. Work directly with shift supervisors and managers to regulate production and meet goals. Evaluate job performance of operators. Ensure all personnel safety and food‑safety procedures are rigorously followed. Drive continuous improvement of waste elimination. Anticipate problems and make quick decisions under time pressure. Perform all jobs on the lines and coach others in tasks. Lead daily direction‑setting meetings when required. Provide verbal and/or written recommendations to supervisor concerning problems or issues. Qualifications Must be able to speak, read, and write in English. 1year of work experience in a production and/or manufacturing environment. Able to frequently lift and/or move up to 60 lbs. Committed to following all personal safety requirements rigorously. Flexible and able to execute other duties and production tasks required. Basic math skills (adding, subtracting, basic division). Ability to work without direct supervision. Certification to operate a forklift or pallet jack is an advantage. Proven experience in leadership/supervisory roles. Strong people skills and ability to interact with employees and management at all levels. Demonstrate strong accountability, consistency, and follow‑through. Knowledge of equipment set‑ups, operations, and adjustments. Proficient computer skills: Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and inventory systems.
