Phlebotomist ED 7 on 7 off 5am- 6pm

Overview Your primary role as a Phlebotomist is to provide safe, accurate, and compassionate blood collection services in a timely manner while maintaining a high standard of patient care. Daily Responsibilities Perform venipuncture and skin puncture in accordance with standard procedures. Use handheld devices for specimen collection. Monitor collection list and document the status of outstanding collections. Ensure that STAT specimens are delivered to the laboratory within 15 minutes of collection or pick‑up. Update specimen status with correct collection and receipt date/time and dispatch to the appropriate laboratory section immediately upon receipt. Communicate complaints or problems to the department supervisor. Collect data for the quality assurance program, maintain thorough and neat documentation, and monitor and clear collection‑pending reports. Demonstrate knowledge of standard phlebotomy techniques and appropriate blood processing and handling procedures. Maintain and advocate a safe environment for all personnel and patients. Monitor and engage with patients, families, and appropriate care team members regarding significant events, changes in patient condition, or patient questions and concerns. Ensure continuity of care, efficient throughput, consistent communications, and an exceptional experience for every patient. Assist team members proactively when needed. Qualifications High School Diploma/GED or 2 years of applicable experience or Phlebotomist certification. Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
