Lead Mechanic

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Mechanic to join our team. The Lead Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing our fleet of paving equipment and vehicles. This role is crucial to ensuring the efficiency and reliability of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on paving equipment and company vehicles.

Diagnose mechanical issues and implement effective solutions.

Ensure all equipment is in compliance with safety and operational standards.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs.

Oversee and mentor junior mechanics and assist with training.

Manage inventory of parts and supplies.

Collaborate with the operations team to schedule and prioritize repairs.

Supply and maintain personal hand tools.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably in the paving or construction industry.

Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred but not required.

Additional Requirements:

Must supply own hand tools.

Some weekends required.

Very limited after-hours work required.
