Regional Truck Driver Location: Stockton, CA Operating Area: California and Nevada Freight Type: Grocery Freight Equipment: Automatic Day Cabs with Dry Van Trailers Position Overview The Regional Truck Driver is responsible for transporting grocery freight from distribution centers in Stockton and Tracy, California , to customer locations throughout California and Nevada. Drivers will begin their routes from the Stockton distribution center . This is a no-touch freight position consisting primarily of drop-and-hook loads. Drivers should be comfortable with overnight travel, nighttime driving, mountain routes, and winter driving conditions, including regular travel across Donner Pass . Schedule & Hours Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday Start Time: Between 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM Drivers average approximately 11–12 hours per workday . Drivers will typically lay over approximately 5 nights per week . Hotel accommodations are provided for required layovers. Drivers may elect to work a 6th day for additional income , based on available work. Key Responsibilities Transport grocery freight in dry van trailers from distribution centers in Stockton and Tracy, CA. Deliver freight to customer locations throughout California and Nevada . Begin assigned routes from the Stockton, CA distribution center . Regularly operate routes that require travel across Donner Pass , particularly for deliveries into Nevada and Eureka, CA. Complete assigned deliveries safely, accurately, and on schedule. Perform required pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections. Follow all company, customer, DOT, and safety requirements. Freight Handling This is a no-touch freight position . The majority of loads are drop and hook . Some assignments may require live loading or unloading . Drivers are not responsible for physically loading or unloading freight. Special Requirements Drivers must be willing and able to install and use tire chains during the winter months when road or weather conditions require them. Must be comfortable driving through mountainous terrain and changing winter weather conditions. Drivers must be willing to support other DCS/JBI accounts as needed based on customer and operational requirements. Must be flexible regarding routes and assignments when business needs change. Truck Information Drivers will operate automatic day cabs . Slip seating is required , meaning drivers may operate different assigned trucks. Trucks cannot be taken home during scheduled time off . Drivers will use company equipment for assigned regional routes.
