Title: Test Engineering Technician Job Type: Contract Contract Length: 6 months Pay Range: $40 – $50/hr Start Date: ASAP Location: Onsite - San Jose, CA About the Opportunity Our client, a leader in the data storage and electronics industry, is looking for a skilled Test Engineering Technician to join their team for a 6-month engagement. This project involves performing hands‑on testing, debugging, and validation of electronic assemblies and subsystems within a lab environment. This is a high‑impact role that requires a self‑motivated professional who can hit the ground running, troubleshoot failures, and deliver results quickly to ensure products meet rigorous performance and reliability standards. Key Responsibilities & Deliverables Testing and Validation: Execute complex test plans for electronic assemblies and subsystems in a lab environment. Troubleshooting: Debug failures down to the component level and document results clearly for engineering review. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with design and quality engineers to identify root causes and drive corrective actions. Technical Tooling: Operate and maintain a wide range of test and measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, power supplies, and signal generators. Hardware Support: Perform hands‑on physical tasks such as soldering (including fine‑pitch rework) and cable harnessing. Required Skills & Experience 1–3+ years of experience in a similar test technician role. Strong proficiency in soldering (including fine‑pitch rework) and cable harnessing. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and PCB layouts. Hands‑on experience with test and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, etc.) to capture, analyze, and interpret electrical signals and data. Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates and technical findings to the project team.
