*Position Purpose: *

University Pediatricians Autism Center (UPAC) is a therapeutic environment providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to clients with diagnoses of Autism between the ages of 0-21. The Autism center is a growing, face-paced environment in which flexibility and efficiency are necessary as we work as a team to provide high quality treatment to our clients. The Occupational Therapist will contribute to high quality services for clients diagnosed with autism and the overall functioning of the center. The Occupational Therapist is an essential part of UPACs commitment to maintaining quality and ethical service delivery. The OT will assess, plan, and implement therapeutic programs to help patients regain independence and improve their ability to perform daily activities. Time will be spent conducting OT assessments and treatment as well as corresponding documentation and billing.

*Qualifications:*

* Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
* National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
* State of Michigan licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
* Experience working with clients diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder in an ABA setting.
* Excellent verbal and written communication as well as interpersonal skills required.
* Problem resolution and organizational skills required.
* Proficiency using Microsoft 365 required.

*Supervisory Responsibilities:* None

*Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: *

* National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
* State of Michigan licensure as an Occupational Therapist.

*Required Expectations:*

* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Ability to read, write, develop and interpret documents such as treatment plans, professional/research literature in OT, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
* Produce and interpret graphs and charts on data collected.
* Ability to speak effectively to groups and apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
* Ability to manage problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

*Job Responsibilities:*

1. Caseload management

* Manage a caseload of clients who are receiving OT services
* Conduct case supervision, parent meetings and treatment planning activities
* Staff are expected to complete direct hours with clients as needed to meet the requirement while building caseload.
* Provide Staff training and oversight
* Conduct appropriate client assessments, including implementation, scoring and interpretation.
* Case conceptualization and treatment planning that incorporates parent and staff concerns, assessment results, and risks/barriers to treatment
* Conduct client observations, monitor progress, and update treatment accordingly
* Facilitate active parent engagement through parent meetings and involvement
* Collaborate with school and other professionals

2. Documentation expectations and billing per UPAC guidelines and policy

* Complete billing activities accurately and according to UPAC and contract guidelines
* Complete and sign supervision/case note
* Ensure complete, accurate, and up to date client file documentation
* Complete, accurate and up to date programming in electronic medical record
* Ensure billing and client file management is complete within company policy deadlines

3. Supervision, training, and documentation

* Seek supervision and guidance from center director through weekly 1-1 meetings
* Provide supervision for students pursuing their OT certification
* Delegate tasks appropriately to students and staff
* Review of staff performance including adherence to company policies and procedures

4. Availability

* Employees are expected to be available to provide services during non-traditional business hours. Employees should understand that their schedule could change based on company need.
* Support opening and closing of the center, including closing 2-3 evenings a week, and 1 Saturday per month as needed.
* Availability to attend required meetings.
* Manage schedule to ensure responsibilities are met, and to accommodate to absences while maintaining expectations.

5. Ethics

* Maintain ethical standards that include supervisory and service delivery best practices.
* Follow ethical guidelines set forth by the NBCOT, the insurance providers, and UPAC.
* Ongoing education and professional development to enhance skill development
* Maintenance of trainings, certificates and licenses to avoid lapse
