Cetechs is seeking Certified Pharmacy Technicians to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Meds by Mail (MbM) pharmacy program.

In this remote position, Pharmacy Technicians will support prescription processing, prescription data entry, pharmacy call center activities, patient communications, and related pharmacy administrative functions.

Work will be performed remotely using Government-furnished equipment and secure VA connectivity.

Current VA Meds by Mail Pharmacy Technicians are encouraged to apply. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Location Requirement

Although this position is remote, applicants must live within 50 miles of one of the following locations:

• Cheyenne, WY
• Dublin, GA
• Chelmsford, MA
• Hines, IL
• Lancaster, TX
• Ladson, SC
• Shawnee, KS
• Murfreesboro, TN
• Tucson, AZ

This geographic requirement is established by the VA contract.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The Certified Pharmacy Technician will:

• Process prescription orders and perform prescription data entry
• Review and process external prescriptions
• Provide pharmacy-related call center triage
• Perform pharmacy clerical and administrative functions
• Communicate therapeutic change requests to provider offices
• Communicate with patients and caregivers regarding medication use within the Pharmacy Technician's authorized scope
• Accurately enter and maintain information in pharmacy information systems
• Follow VA policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Protect patient information and comply with HIPAA, privacy, and information-security requirements
• Complete required VA orientation, training, and competency assessments
• Maintain all required certifications and credentials
• Perform all duties within the scope of Pharmacy Technician certification and applicable law

All prescription entries are verified by a supervising VA pharmacist. Pharmacy Technicians do not make independent clinical decisions.

Minimum Qualifications

Required:

• Current Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) OR National Healthcareer Association (NHA) pharmacy technician certification
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read, understand, speak, and write English fluently
• Strong computer and data-entry skills
• Ability to navigate pharmacy information systems and accurately complete electronic documentation
• Ability to successfully complete required VA credentialing and onboarding
• Ability to successfully complete required background investigation
• Ability to meet the geographic residency requirement

These are the Pharmacy Technician minimum qualifications established in the VA PWS.

VA Credentialing & Onboarding

Selected candidates must successfully complete all required VA credentialing, security, and onboarding requirements before beginning work.

Requirements include:

• Verification of current PTCB or NHA certification
• VetPro credentialing
• Background investigation
• VA orientation and mandatory training
• Initial and annual competency assessments
• SOP training
• Signed VA Rules of Behavior
• HHS OIG exclusion verification

No employee may begin providing services until applicable onboarding requirements have been completed.

Work Schedule

Pharmacy Technicians will work during VA Meds by Mail-designated operational hours.

Candidates should understand that:

• An 8-hour workday is not guaranteed
• A 40-hour workweek is not guaranteed
• Overtime is not authorized under the contract
• Federal holidays may be designated as workdays based on VA mission requirements

Remote Work Requirements

The VA will provide required Government-furnished equipment, including applicable computer hardware, software, and PIV credentials required to access VA systems.

Employees must maintain an appropriate remote workspace and comply with all VA cybersecurity, privacy, HIPAA, and information-security requirements.
