Maintenance Technician 2The Ashville Plant's manufacturing processes include continuous coil coating paint lines and metal slitting operations. Maintenance Technician 2 position in the Maintenance Department will perform job duties to maintain, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, electronics and programmable controlled equipment. Qualified persons must possess work experience and the ability to perform preventive maintenance on plant equipment and machinery, set-up new machinery and equipment, perform skilled tasks such as welding, burning, brazing, fabricating, pipe fitting, rigging, carpentry, machining work, modifications, and installation.Responsibilities & QualificationsResponsibilities Include:Work in a safe manner in compliance with all plant safety and environmental requirements, policies, and regulatory statutesNotify appropriate personnel of irregularities in operating equipment or materials; maintain clean and orderly conditions in work areaUnder supervision, coordinate and carry out various operations in the performance of any assignmentHandle the planning, layout and construction of workstation tables, conveyors, platforms, and other work aids to improve ergonomics, safety, and general working conditionsMust possess basic mechanical and electrical knowledge and be able to read and interpret prints, diagrams, drawings, schematics, programs, and operating instructions to fabricate tools, fixtures, workstation equipment, as well as have the ability to troubleshoot, repair and upgrade machineryOperate a variety of mobile equipment including, but not limited to forklift, powered manlifts and overhead craneEnter maintenance work order data into computersSupporting the Company's continuous improvement processAdhere to and support company quality, environmental, health & safety, and certification standards, including ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, IATF 16949:2016, and ASI Certifications, where applicable.Required Qualifications:High school diploma or GED equivalent is requiredAbility to work on a night shift, overtime, weekends, and holidays1-3 years maintenance work experience, preferably in a manufacturing work environment.Demonstrate concern for personal safety and safety of othersMust demonstrate a willingness to participate in plant safety initiativesMust be able to work as part of a team and be capable of self-directionGood verbal communication skills are requiredMust be comfortable using the Microsoft suite of products: MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint; Oracle, and various analysis toolsMust be able to demonstrate a strong work ethic and positive attitudeMust be capable and willing to train others as neededGood decision-making skills are requiredMust be flexible as job focus and assignments may change daily and by the hourAdditional Preferred Qualifications:Machine shop work experience is highly desirableForklift certification from a previous employer or state agencyPhysical DemandsIndividuals for this position need to be able to sit, stand, walk, crouch, kneel, bend, stoop, climb stairs or ladders during the normal course of duties on a routine basis. Individuals would also need to be able to hear, speak, see (including near, far, and peripheral site), handle with fingers, hands, or arms; lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds; reach above, at or below shoulder level during the normal course of duties on a routine basis. Keyboarding is a routine function.Shift differential for night shift.Candidates must be able to work a night shift, 6P-6A, on a rotating basis. (work 2 days, off 2 days, work 3 days, off 2 days). Ability to work overtime, weekends and holidays is required.Location ProfileFounded in 1971, the Ashville, OH plant is a finishing facility with coating capabilities running on a 24/7 basis.
