Overview Supply Chain Engineer – Defense. Immediate opening for a Supply Chain Engineer in Liverpool, NY. Responsible for production planning activities and process improvement initiatives to optimize the production planning process and to ensure on-time delivery for high-complexity, high-mix aerospace products. Responsibilities Develop production schedule to meet external customer delivery requirements and internal revenue targets. Review customer orders, factory capacity, and material availability to provide product ship dates for Sales & Marketing. Advise management of work in progress status, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure on-time delivery. Collaborate with Operations Managers, Machine Shop Manager, Manufacturing Engineers, Shop Floor Group Leaders, Quality, and Planners to prioritize and expedite parts and determine progress and completion dates. Manage the process of expedited orders by facilitating communication between responsible departments. Actively monitor and level workload with capacity constraints at the resource level. Release and track manufacturing jobs to ensure compliance with the daily schedule and identify/escalate issues that prevent success; identify trends and develop actionable insights to drive process improvements. Design and implement supply chain dashboards and KPIs to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement. Perform statistical analysis to optimize inventory levels. Use Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies to identify waste and engineer process improvements. Leverage AI to automate portions of the planning process. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering and Management, Supply Chain Management, Data Analytics, Logistics, or related discipline. Experience with production planning systems (e.g., Epicor, SAP, MAPICS) or equivalent, and understanding of business processes and planning tools to optimize production. Strong analytics background with proficiency in Excel; experience developing queries and converting data into informative insights. Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills. Experience with data analysis tools (Power BI, Power Query) and SQL is desirable. Background in Six Sigma methodologies, statistical analysis, and APICS certifications (CSCP or CPIM) is beneficial.
