Environments Engineer / Mechanical Engineering / Dallas, TX

Job Overview Lockheed Martin is seeking an Environments Engineer for its Dallas, TX facility. The engineer will work on the hardware engineering team designing, analyzing, testing, and certifying missile and fire‑control systems to ensure they survive the full range of mechanical, thermal, acoustic, electromagnetic, and structural environments from launch through deployment. Responsibilities Develop and flow down environmental requirements to systems and components. Conduct vibration analysis and testing; develop test plans for subsystem qualification testing. Assess environmental requirements, risks and margin against product specifications and reliability standards for product verification and robust design. Interface with mechanical design, systems requirements, electromechanical design, lab operations, and structural analysis engineering groups. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline. Strong foundation in vibration analysis, vibration test data processing, structural testing or related experience, demonstrated through academic performance. Excellent problem‑solving skills, able to diagnose and troubleshoot complex problems via hands‑on experience. Strong communication and teamwork skills, demonstrated through collaborative projects. Preferred Skills Pursuing a Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline. Familiarity with military‑level grade testing standards such as MIL‑STD‑810. Experience with vibration testing and other environmental testing facilities. Experience with accelerometer post‑processing, time‑history and power spectral density analyses. Ability to execute a requirements gap analysis and flow‑down to subsystems. Familiarity with shaker tables and PSD testing. Security Clearance Position requires a government security clearance. US citizenship is required. Clearance level: Secret . Employment Details Location: Dallas, TX. Experience Level: 4 years and up, college degree. Business Unit: MISSILES AND FIRE CONTROL.
