This position is responsible for operating heavy equipment to support site preparation, grading, trenching, material handling, and other construction activities on utility-scale projects. Candidates must be dependable, adaptable, and committed to maintaining a safe and productive work environment. (Wages vary by job site.)Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesOperate heavy equipment safely and efficiently in support of construction operationsPerform grading, excavation, trenching, backfilling, and material movement activitiesConduct pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections and report maintenance concernsFollow project specifications, site plans, and supervisor directionMaintain awareness of underground utilities and surrounding personnel/equipmentAssist crews with general labor duties when equipment operation is not requiredAdhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA requirementsMaintain clean and organized equipment and work areasWork effectively in changing outdoor environments and weather conditionsSupport project schedules through reliable attendance and teamworkEquipment May IncludeExcavatorsDozersSkid steersLoadersMotor gradersWater trucksOther construction equipment as assignedQualificationsPrevious experience operating construction equipment preferredAbility to work in a fast-paced construction environmentBasic understanding of construction site safety practicesAbility to read and follow instructions and site directionsStrong work ethic and willingness to learnReliable transportation and ability to travel as neededAbility to work overtime, weekends, and rotational schedules when requiredPhysical RequirementsAbility to sit, stand, walk, climb, bend, and lift up to 50 poundsAbility to work outdoors in varying weather and site conditionsAbility to safely enter and exit heavy equipment multiple times per shiftWork EnvironmentThis position operates primarily on active construction sites with exposure to moving equipment, dust, uneven terrain, noise, and changing weather conditions.Equal Opportunity EmployerWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer and value a diverse workforce.
