Job Description Club Overview /n /n Founded in 1927, St. Francis Yacht Club is steeped in over 90 years of yachting traditions. From the beginning, St. Francis Yacht Club’s membership has included many of the Bay Area’s most prominent citizens and greatest sailors. The Club’s annual regatta schedule is one of the most active in the world. Both physically beautiful and naturally demanding, the Bay provides a racer with the ultimate in wind, current and weather conditions for truly competitive, exciting sailing. /n /n Adjacent to the Marina District, the clubhouse provides a boating and social venue for members and their guests, featuring deep-water guest docks, outstanding dining amenities and incredible vistas of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco Bay. The Club boasts a professional staff, excellent dining rooms, inviting bars and spectacular private party facilities, not to mention extensive experience in accommodating regattas of all kinds and sizes. /n /n In addition to the city-based clubhouse, Tinsley Island is our private slice of paradise, located 60 miles up the Delta from St. Francis Yacht Club. This 40-acre oasis is accessed by a Club-owned launch or private boat and offers a year-round getaway for our members, featuring dockage and houseboats, on-island lodging and kitchen facilities, a swimming pool, small boat fleet for member use and a variety of other diversions in a rustic, relaxing setting. /n /n Position: Overnight Watch/Security Person /n Department: Front Desk and Membership /n Reports to: Assistant General Manager /n Type: Part Time, Non exempt /n Pay: $28/hour with bonus and benefits /n On site position /n /n Summary /n The Overnight Watch/Security team member is responsible for the security of the club and surrounding club property during closed hours. Start time is 10:00p.m. - 11:30p.m. (part time position). End time is at 7:30 am or 8 am. /n /n Essential Duties and Responsibilities /n /n FRONT DESK: /n Answer and route telephone calls in a courteous and pleasant manner. /n Take telephone messages. /n Greet members and guests; screen people entering the Club. /n Provide schedule and club information to members and guests. /n Accept reservations for restaurants and club functions.Issue guest cards and maintain guest logs. /n Operate and observe Fire and Security alarms. /n Function as club communication hub, disseminating information to appropriate personnel and locations. /n Post appropriate flags as Club Officers enter and leave the Club. /n Maintain proper appearance of reception area. /n Update announcement boards.Update and maintain lost and found and other equipment check out. /n /n SECURITY: /n Keep unauthorized personnel away from the property to reduce the risks of theft, vandalism and assault. /n Reduce the threat of damage to property due to fire, equipment failure, flooding and other emergencies. /n Secure the premises, making sure exit doors and windows are locked. /n Walk property rounds at least three times: at beginning of the shift (approximately 12:00a.m. and/or after all members have departed the club); second walk through at approximately 3:30a.m. and the third walkthrough at 6:00a.m. /n Complete nightly report and ensure that all first aid kits are fully stocked. /n Maintain a prominent level of visibility. /n Constant watchfulness and effective reporting of events, such as strange vehicles or persons in the parking lots at unusual hours, loiterers, fire hazards, safety hazards, emergency situations. /n Monitor temperatures of all coolers and freezers. /n Turn lights off in rooms not in use. /n Turn off kitchen hood fans after housekeeping staff departs and turn them on when morning staff arrives. /n Monitor room temperatures and set heaters in rooms with morning events and turn heat off in rooms not in use. /n Monitor security cameras. /n /n DATA ENTRY /n Mailing (mail merge, copying, folding, stuffing envelopes, stamping). /n Printing various reports. /n Organizing photo files. /n Printing Dining Room menus. /n Updating club event reservation. /n Updating beverage inventory sheet pricing. /n Sending out monthly birthday cards to members. /n Updating wine lists. /n Updating and assembling various packets: catering department, race department. /n /n /n REPORTS TO: Assistant General Manager, Member Services /n SUPERVISES: Non-supervisory position /n Part Time - 2 - work shifts/week /n Pay: $28/hour /n /n Requirements /n One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Intermediate to advance user of Microsoft Word, Excel, Photoshop. Must learn other computer programs and/or applications which will assist in the completion of other /n basic job duties.
