Job Title: CDL Class A Driver

Job Description

The CDL Class A Driver transports products safely and efficiently between facilities and customer locations. This role involves loading and unloading materials from trailers, working both independently and as part of a team, while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Transport products between company facilities and customer locations using a Class A CDL vehicle.
• Load and unload materials on and off trailers, working independently or with team assistance as needed.
• Handle metal materials and products in a safe and efficient manner, following all handling and recycling procedures.
• Operate vehicles in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies.
• Maintain a clean driving record and adhere to safe driving practices at all times.
• Inspect vehicles and trailers before and after trips, reporting any issues or maintenance needs promptly.
• Secure loads properly to ensure safe transport and prevent damage to products or equipment.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions while performing loading, unloading, and transport duties.
• Collaborate with dispatch, yard staff, and customers to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
• Accurately follow schedules and shift start times to achieve at least 40 hours of work per week.

Essential Skills

• Valid Class A CDL license.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Proven Class A CDL driving experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently.
• Ability to lift 100+ lbs with assistance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in metal recycling operations.
• Familiarity with handling and transporting metal materials.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment during loading and unloading.
• Reliability in maintaining consistent attendance and meeting scheduled start times.
• Strong communication skills with dispatch, yard personnel, and customers.
• Comfort working flexible start times within first shift hours.

Work Environment

The role is based in an outdoor work setting where you will operate a Class A CDL vehicle and handle metal materials in all weather conditions. You will work first shift, with flexible start times between approximately 5:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m., Monday through Friday, and are expected to achieve at least 40 hours per week. The environment involves physical work, including lifting and moving materials, loading and unloading trailers, and working in a yard or facility focused on metal handling and recycling. Dress should be practical and suitable for outdoor, physical work, including appropriate footwear and weather-appropriate clothing.

This is a Permanent position based out of Ogallala, NE.

The pay range for this position is $49920.00 - $58240.00/yr.
