Position Description UC Irvine School of Medicine – Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Care – Specialist Series – Ostlund Laboratory (Junior, Assistant, Associate, and Full Specialists) in the field of Motivated Behavior and Addiction. The position will conduct general laboratory research procedures, including animal behavioral testing, cardiac perfusions, and brain tissue processing. May involve other routine lab maintenance and administrative activities. Qualifications Basic Qualifications : Candidate must possess a BA/BS, Master’s, Ph.D., or M.D./Ph.D. degree by the proposed start date. Additional Qualifications : Strong organizational and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications : Evidence of specialized research skills and approaches of past research productivity. Specialist Series – Ostlund Laboratory Level requirements: Junior Specialists – Baccalaureate degree (or equivalent) or equivalent research experience. Assistant Specialists – Master’s degree (or equivalent) or five years of experience demonstrating expertise in the relevant specialization. Associate Specialists – Master’s degree (or equivalent) or five to ten years of experience; record of academic accomplishments, publications or in‑press research, and demonstrated university/public service. Full Specialists – Terminal degree (or equivalent) or ten or more years of experience; significant record of academic accomplishments, professional recognition, and demonstrated university/public service.
