Job Summary

Southwest Healthcare is seeking a Full-Time Sr Accountant who will be responsible for maintaining accurate general ledger accounts, ensuring proper recording of financial transactions, reconciling subsidiary ledgers, and preparing complex financial statements and reports . The position will be located at our Southwest Regional Office supporting the Accounting functions for multiple facilities across the Region. Duties include but not limited to:

• Ensuring accuracy of entries to the general ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts.
• Maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded.
• Analyzes current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.
• Prepares complex balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports.
• Assist with training of department team members as needed.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/TRAINING/ EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University in related field required.
• Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience in Accounting required. Healthcare Accounting experience, preferred.

Certifications/Licenses

• CPA or other professional certification preferred

• Demonstrates compliance with Healthcare policies and procedures at all times.
• Ability to set priorities and appropriately organize workload and complete assignments in a timely manner.
• Demonstrates ability to relate to clinical personnel and medical staff, as well as ability to interact well with the public.
• Must have knowledge of PC and applications.
• Solid knowledge of accounting principles.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft products, such as Excel and Word.
• Must have the ability to use good judgment and critical thinking skills in all situations.
• Must be able to use the following: SMS, AS400, Computer, Calculator (10-Key Proficient), Fax Machine, LaserJet Printer, AS400 Printer, SMS Printer.
