Head, Global Oncology Pipeline, Medical Affairs

AbbVie seeks a Head of Global Oncology Pipeline in Medical Affairs to lead pipeline strategy development across the oncology lifecycle, shape clinical and commercial differentiation, and manage cross-functional teams. The role oversees medical, value, and evidence planning for assets up to 24–36 months pre-launch across US and International markets.

Responsibilities

• Lead pipeline medical, value, and evidence strategy development across disease areas for US and International markets
• Drive differentiation of clinical and commercialization strategies using HCP, patient, and payor insights
• Represent medical affairs in pipeline governance and serve as final decision maker for strategy pre-BU head
• Manage pipeline resources and redirect team to enterprise-critical assets across the development lifecycle
• Oversee handover to inline and launch teams, and collaborate on Integrated Evidence Planning and gap assessments

Requirements

• M.D. or equivalent advanced degree in a relevant scientific discipline
• 15+ years pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience with oncology focus
• Demonstrated expertise in clinical development, regulatory requirements, and commercialization
• Proven senior-level medical affairs leadership experience with direct and indirect reports
• Strong scientific knowledge of solid tumor biology, clinical trial design, and emerging modalities
• Exceptional cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25–30% annually
