TITLE: Preschool Teacher
REPORTS TO: Person designated by the Board or the superintendent.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Certificate, license, or other legal credential required.
2. Education Degree(s) required an early childhood and/or early childhood special education endorsement
3. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.


JOB GOAL: To devise and implement programs for students who have neurological or other developmental delays that prevent them from learning through traditional methods.


PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Meets with professional staff members to discuss individual programs to be designed for children who will receive regular classroom instruction.
2. Provide specially designed instruction for students that have an IEP
3. Provides a core preschool program for students consistent with state education code requirements.
4. Confers frequently with parents and professional staff members regarding the educational, social and personal problems of each student.
5. Assists in screening and evaluation of students.
6. Provides motivation to all students.
7. Evaluates the progress of each child enrolled in the program.
8. Acts as liaison between support personnel, administrators, classroom teachers, parents and other professionals.
9. Keeps parents informed of their children's progress.
10. Undertakes continuing professional study in the psychology of the developmentally delayed students and related teaching methods.
11. Keeps attendance records and all other records pertinent to the Early Childhood Special Education program for state reports.

EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be established by the Board.
