Lecturer in Neuroscience The School of Education at the University of Bristol is seeking an outstanding individual to contribute to the BSc Psychology in Education programme and play a key role in the delivery of Masters level teaching. Applicants should have demonstrable experience and a broad knowledge base in psychological concepts related to education, with a particular focus on Neuroscience as applied in education (Educational Neuroscience). Responsibilities Teach units in the BSc Psychology in Education, MSc Psychology of Education and MSc Education (Educational Neuroscience) programmes, taking a lead in areas related to Educational Neuroscience. Contribute to the development of new teaching units and initiatives that attract broader educational interest. Provide individual academic advice and support to students, including pastoral support as a personal tutor and referral to further help when necessary. Set and mark coursework, examinations and other assessment tasks, ensuring timely and appropriate standards. Self‑reflect on performance, respond to student feedback, mentor, and participate in peer observation to inform and enhance future activities. Work with colleagues across undergraduate and masters programmes to develop the field of psychological concepts related to education, including curriculum innovation and development. Contribute to student recruitment events, including open days and visit days. Qualifications Hold a PhD (or near completion) in a discipline relevant to psychology, or equivalent research experience in an academic, industrial or clinical setting, and BPS chartered status or eligibility for chartered status. Demonstrated experience and ability to deliver high‑quality teaching in areas of psychological concepts related to education at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level, with a focus on Educational Neuroscience. Experience or willingness to supervise undergraduate and postgraduate projects and dissertations. Excellent collaboration and team‑working skills that enable positive contributions to a collegiate working environment and relevant teaching teams and research groups. Excellent written and oral communication skills compatible with scholarly work in a premier university setting. Ability to work with initiative and imagination, and to make innovative contributions to the school’s research and teaching.
