Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 24 months of Medical Surgical experience in a hospital or medical center setting License: Iowa Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Patient care experience in general, gynecology, breast, abdominal, flaps, and ENT - Heparin experience - EPIC electronic medical record experience - Recent/current Level II trauma experience - Completed a travel contract in the past 24 months Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical for a 13-week assignment. The position is for day shifts, working 12-hour shifts. Candidates must have 24 months of Medical Surgical experience in a hospital or medical center setting. Experience in patient care across various specialties is required, including general, gynecology, breast, abdominal, flaps, and ENT. Heparin experience and familiarity with EPIC electronic medical record systems are essential for this role. Recent or current Level II trauma experience is also required. Candidates should have successfully completed a travel contract in the last 24 months. The role may require floating to various campuses as needed. Contractors may be required to work 1-2 of the upcoming summer holidays unless the unit is closed. Scrubs in navy blue (tops and bottoms, solids) are required for this position. Expect a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-6 during the day shift and 1:5-6 during the night shift. The unit has a bed size of 24-26 and cares for patients with various needs.
