As one of the largest companies in our industry, with 7 manufacturing facilities, 8 sales and operations offices, and over 1,000 employees across the US and Canada, Pattison ID is committed to offering a culture where team members can achieve their unique career ambitions, while embodying our Core Values of Innovation, Delight, Dependability, Involvement and Drive.Essential Functions:Develop detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings, shop drawings, and fabrication documents using AutoCAD or SOLIDWORKS based on design concepts and project specifications.Create accurate bills of materials (BOMs) and cutting lists for production.Collaborate closely with the sales, design, engineering, and production teams to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturing efficiency and cost-effectiveness.Interpret architectural plans, client specifications, and engineering requirements to develop appropriate sign solutions.Identify and resolve design conflicts or technical challenges proactively.Ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes, ADA requirements, and industry standards.Manage and organize design files, ensuring version control and accessibility.Participate in design reviews and provide technical input and recommendations.Stay up-to-date with the latest software advancements, materials, and manufacturing techniques in the sign industry.Qualifications:Proven expertise in AutoCAD is essential. Please highlight your specific experience with these software platforms in your application.Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience.Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Technical Designer or similar role, preferably within the sign manufacturing, architectural, or fabrication industries.Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials (e.g., metals, plastics, LEDs), and construction methods relevant to sign production.Excellent spatial reasoning and ability to visualize complex 3D structures from 2D drawings.High attention to detail and accuracy in all work.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Proficiency with other design software Inventor, Auto Desk Suite, SolidWorks) is a plusPhysical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
