HVAC Apprentice

FMM is seeking a motivated professional to fulfill our HVAC Apprentice position. FMM is a maintenance and construction company servicing residential and commercial clients nationwide. Job Summary Responsible for assisting our service technicians in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC systems for commercial and residential properties. Essential Job Duties Assisting with preventive maintenance, necessary maintenance and minor repairs to HVAC systems on commercial and residential properties; must have working knowledge of building mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems to ensure proper operations. Conduct periodic general preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, including lubrications, adjustments, cleaning, replacement of consumable parts, and periodic testing of equipment. Prepare and maintain maintenance logs and records; familiarity with preventative maintenance and work order software systems. Perform all assigned work to ensure safety of building occupants and continuous operation. Assist with installation of new HVAC systems in residential and commercial properties, ensuring proper operation and function. Install and perform preventative and repair maintenance on generators. Required Skills and Abilities Basic knowledge of electrical, HVAC, and mechanical skills Knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment (AHUs, VAVs, etc.) HVAC diagnostic and troubleshooting, maintenance, and installation skills Ability to utilize iPad for work order distribution, Teams meeting, email, etc. Strong work ethic and pride in work quality Team player Willingness to work overtime as needed Willingness to learn and share knowledge and experiences Education and Experience High School Diploma 0–2 years of previous experience Ability to handle multiple projects and make decisions using FMM's core values of Quality, Teamwork, Integrity, Safety, and Versatility Proficient in computer, text, and email skills May perform other duties as assigned Physical Requirements Ability to lift 20–50 pounds Ability to regularly climb stairs and ladders Ability to work indoors and outdoors in hot or cold temperatures Ability to pass a Fit for Duty Screening Benefits Health insurance–FMM will pay 50% of the employee's premium. 401(k) contribution–FMM will match employee contribution up to 3%.
