Job Title: Welder / Welding Technician

Job Description

The Welder / Welding Technician performs a wide variety of sheet metal fabrication tasks with a strong focus on high-quality TIG and MIG welding. You will work safely and efficiently on a diverse range of parts, ensuring all welds meet strict quality, pressure test, and close tolerance requirements. You will collaborate with a small team in the welding shop and contribute to the production of components for various projects, including work for state-of-the-art applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG welding on sheet metal components and assemblies with a high level of precision and consistency.
• Perform MIG welding as needed to support production and fabrication requirements.
• Fabricate and assemble sheet metal parts according to engineering drawings and production specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand weld symbols, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Ensure all welded products meet or exceed pressure test requirements and adhere to close tolerance specifications.
• Use measurement instruments to verify dimensions and confirm that finished parts meet quality standards.
• Follow established safety procedures and wear required protective equipment at all times while welding.
• Work efficiently in a production environment to meet project deadlines and support on-time delivery of orders.
• Collaborate with a small team in the welding shop and communicate effectively to coordinate work on various projects.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and care for welding equipment and tools to ensure reliable operation.

Essential Skills

• At least 5 years of TIG welding experience.
• Proficiency in TIG welding on sheet metal components.
• Ability to perform MIG welding in a production environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
• Experience with aluminum welding.
• Ability to use measurement instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations related to fabrication and measurement.
• Commitment to following safety procedures and using appropriate protective equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in a contract manufacturing environment with varying projects and orders.
• Experience in production welding or fabrication of sheet metal parts.
• Comfort working on components for advanced or state-of-the-art applications.
• Strong attention to detail and focus on weld quality and consistency.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a small welding team.

Work Environment

This is a first-shift role, working from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in an open warehouse environment that includes both indoor and outdoor areas. The facility does not have air conditioning, but each station is equipped with multiple industrial-sized fans, and water and electrolytes are provided to support comfort and hydration. Approximately 20 people work in production, with around 4 team members in the welding shop, creating a collaborative yet focused atmosphere. The dress code is casual; however, you must wear a welding jacket, welding gloves, and a face shield at all times while welding to ensure safety.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dover, NH.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Dover,NH.
