Assembler PositionAssemblers perform a variety of tasks at Wabash that vary from location to location. Assemblers are responsible for tasks such as installing subassemblies, assembling component parts, operating rivet punchers, and installing decals.Below are examples of the type of duties you could be responsible for:Owning and helping improve our performance in Safety, Quality, and DeliveryKeeping the work area free of any potential work hazardsMeasuring, cutting and caulking materialsInstalling rivetsOperating heavy machineryInstalling truck bed flooringFollowing decal templates & blueprintsInstalling signs, reflectors, fenders, mud flaps, and other associated partsPerforming additional work assigned by the supervisor or coordinator, which may require the employee to assist in different departmentsWearing approved personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses with side shields, respirators, hearing protection, etc.Completing assigned duties in accordance with safety, policies, and practices, including your individual safety, as well as the safety of co-workers, and the safe use of equipment in the workplaceBelow is a list of examples of the potential tools and equipment you may find yourself working with, depending upon your department and location. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, as well as moving mechanical parts and vibrations. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at job sites where the noise level can be very loud with high temperatures at times. The employee needs full range of motion in arms and hands, all assemblers must be able to successfully communicate with fellow employees as well. Some assemblers also work in small spaces throughout their shift and frequently lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
