About the Position

The traveler is expected to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees. The unit has a capacity of 30 beds and is currently operating with 18 beds due to renovations. Patient ratios are typically 6-7:1. We utilize a team nursing approach with tech support on the unit and strive to have a free charge nurse to assist the team. Standard medical-surgical equipment is used on the unit. The documentation system employed is Meditech. Scheduling requires the completion of 4 weekend shifts within every 4-week scheduling period. The policy requires the traveler to float to similar units as needed. The traveler must perform hourly safety rounds and bedside shift reports with patients. The facility features specialized services and has earned multiple awards and accreditations. Staff members report supportive management and an emphasis on teamwork.
