RN - PCU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Nursing Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year of nursing experience required License: Current RN License issued by a state board of nursing or a current multistate compact RN License Certifications: Current Basic Life Support certification issued by a recognized organization Must-Have: Ability to maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and good communication skills Description:Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex.Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients.Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments.Notes all changes in physician orders for assigned patients.Assists physicians in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients, observes their physiological manifestations, and intervenes when necessary.Administers medication as prescribed.Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products.Delivers patient care competently.Interacts with patients and families to share the care plan while in the hospital and upon discharge.Informs patients and families of hospital procedures.Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.Delegates tasks to support staff.Performs other duties as assigned.Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures is required.Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques.Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.Some computer skills are also required.An Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program is required.A Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a board-approved program is preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr Cynet HealthStaff
