Job Summary:

The Director, Technical Product Management sets the product vision and strategy for Developer Platform Engineering (DPE), spanning CI/CD, Developer Frameworks, observability, test infrastructure, developer tooling, and the developer portal, in close partnership with cross-functional teams and business-unit stakeholders across the company. Leading a team of Technical Product Managers who each own a platform domain end to end, the Director integrates their roadmaps into a single strategy, resolves cross-domain trade-offs, and represents DPE to CTO-level stakeholders. The Director balances architectural judgment with disciplined technical execution, meets regulatory requirements, and treats the developer as the customer, using metrics to define and track platform success. The Director also brings a forward-looking view of the agentic SDLC, meaning how AI agents reshape planning, build, test, and release, and shapes how that thinking gets applied across DPE.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Establish a shared vision across the company for one or more products, or a platform product enabling development & scalability, with a deliberate and cohesive strategy.
• Leads product strategy development, and develops a clear, executable view of the product strategy with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Influences the architectural roadmap and balances innovative design and technical implementation, while balancing regulatory requirements, time-to-market, meeting customer needs and product profitability.
• Champions the customer experience and prioritizes customer needs in product requirements and decision making.
• Defines and uses metrics that inform the success of products including usability studies, research and market analysis.
• Standardizes workstreams to include analytics, customer discovery, market research and competitive analysis to drive data-driven decision-making.
• Responsible for product profitability, including budgetary decisions.
• Leads operational mechanisms that drive execution and accountability including Product Reviews, Operating Reviews, and Business Reviews. Interfaces with senior leadership as needed.
• Maximizes efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are the standard.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 10+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Champion AI fluency across DPE by modeling hands-on use of agentic AI tools and building enablement programs that turn access into measurable value for teams.
• Track developer experience against Core4 and DORA across all domains, using the data to drive platform excellence and prioritize requirements.
• Drive standardization initiatives, including SDLC policy, library governance, and quality gates, across a large, federated engineering organization.
• Own vendor and contract strategy for platform tooling, including build-vs-buy decisions and migrations, in partnership with Technical Product Managers.
• Hire, coach, and grow Technical Product Managers into stronger technical and product operators, and build the team's succession bench.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated ability to ramp quickly into ownership of in-flight, high-stakes programs with existing deadlines and stakeholder relationships.
• Proven track record architecting and leading agentic AI adoption strategy at an organizational level.
• Experience operating in regulated environments where audit findings and compliance frameworks shape the roadmap.
• Substantial experience managing and developing product managers into high-performing operators, with a history of scaling teams through organizational change without losing platform continuity.
• Experience navigating a federated or matrixed organization, driving influence without full authority over every team on the platform.
• Track record of vendor and contract management at scale, including high-stakes renewals and platform migrations.
• Broad technical fluency across the full SDLC toolchain, from source control and build systems to artifact management and deployment pipelines.
• Sharp prioritization instincts that hold up under competing stakeholder pressure across security, compliance, cost, and velocity.
• Proven experience presenting to CTO-level audiences and translating platform strategy into business and risk language.
• Experience managing a platform on a meaningful scale, serving a 10,000+ internal engineering population.

The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:
