Title I Educational Technician III Title I Educational Technician III provides instructional and behavioral support to students under the supervision of a certified teacher. The position involves assisting with classroom management, implementing educational plans, and supporting students with individualized needs in various educational settings. About Maine School Administrative District No. 27 Maine School Administrative District No. 27 serves 840 students in grades PreK-12 from St. Francis, St. John Plantation, Wallagrass, New Canada and Fort Kent, ME. The district has three schools: Fort Kent Elementary School (PreK-6), Valley Rivers Middle School (7-8), and Fort Kent Community High School (9-12). Qualifications Ed Tech Level 3 (Preferred) Completion of at least 3 years of post‑secondary education or a combination equivalent to 90 hours of approved study in an educationally related field. Knowledge of the learning process, primarily in math and reading instruction. Maine Criminal History Record Check required. Educational Technician Certification. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff. Willingness to complete any required training or certification programs. Ability to work with diverse learners, including students with special needs, and to juggle multiple tasks. Ability to help maintain a positive and structured learning environment. Maintains student privacy and upholds ethical standards. Performance Responsibilities Supervise, plan for, and instruct small groups of students in settings removed from the classroom. Support students with special needs by following individualized education plans (IEPs) or behavioral plans. Monitor student behavior and assist in maintaining a positive classroom environment. Assist in data collection and documentation of student progress. Supervise students in various settings, including classrooms, hallways, recess, and lunch areas. Maintain confidentiality of student records and information. Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or administrator. Working Conditions Ability to multi‑task and manage multiple student needs simultaneously. Requires patience, emotional resilience, and adaptability to support students with diverse learning and behavioral challenges. Must maintain a calm and professional demeanor in potentially stressful situations, including student outbursts or conflicts. Ability to follow instructions from teachers and administrators while also making quick decisions in the moment. Strong problem‑solving skills to assist students with academic and behavioral difficulties. Must handle confidential student information with discretion and professionalism. Physical Demands Frequent standing, walking, bending, and kneeling to assist students. May require lifting or moving materials, books, or equipment (typically under 25 lbs). Occasional need to physically assist students with mobility challenges or support students in crisis situations. Must have the stamina to engage with students for extended periods during the school day. Environmental Conditions Most work is performed inside the classroom or other areas in the school building. May be required to work outdoors for recess, bus duty, or physical education support, subject to varying weather conditions.
