Medical AssistantCNY Fertility is a renowned fertility center offering advanced treatments like IVF, IUI, and egg freezing. With a patient-centered approach and cutting-edge technology, we support individuals and couples on their journey to parenthood. The Medical Assistant completes a wide variety of patient care activities and accommodative services for patient and staff; provides assistance to the physician and appropriate medical staff by performing the following duties.Required Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Places patients in rooms, assists with recording and taking vital signs. Records patient history, medications, and significant changes.Performs phlebotomy successfully.Collects and labels specimen as outlined in lab orders/requisitions.Transports specimens to the lab promptly for testing.Cleans, stocks, and maintains all exam rooms.Assists with patient medication instructions, helping patient get the proper medications ordered from the pharmacy.Participates in all training, continuing education, and classes relevant to the medical assistant.Greeting and checking in patients.Collect co-pays, patient demographic and insurance information.Answer phone calls when needed.This position may also be responsible for performing other duties as assigned, consistent with the role and operations needs of the organization.Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is highly desirable. Prior experience in surgical setting a plus.Language Ability:Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.Math Ability:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Reasoning Ability:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
