Overview Department: 37501 Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center - Acute Care Rehabilitation Status: Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hours Per Week: 40 Schedule Details/Additional Information: Dayshift Location: Winston-Salem, North Carolina Position Type: Acute care physical therapist with experience in Acute Care Pediatrics Responsibilities Provides patient care assessment and treatment within pediatric acute care settings. Ensures patient evaluations and treatments are comprehensive and aligned with the Standard of Practice. Interprets evaluation results and establishes an acceptable treatment plan with realistic goals. Maintains accurate patient documentation, including written evaluations, progress notes, and discharge notes per policy. Ensures timely documentation of patient/family education, charges, and departmental statistics; codes as appropriate. Meets department financial and productivity standards and understands budgeted expectations. Adjusts individual schedules to meet patient and department needs. Participates in process management to optimize quality and efficiency of services. Identifies quality and operational opportunities; promotes professional development and education of other health care workers. Provides in-service training and shares state-of-the-art information to health care workers; enhances safety. Supervises physical therapy and physical therapy assistant students to develop clinical skills and ensure quality patient care. Communicates professionally with patients, physicians, staff, and external customers. Delivers patient care in accordance with age/developmental guidelines and demonstrates age-related knowledge and abilities. Maintains adherence to hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment through effective communication and teamwork. Qualifications Licensed to practice Physical Therapy in the State of North Carolina with current licensure. Active member of APTA encouraged, but not required. Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited physical therapy program required. CPR certification required (every two years).
