Rehabilitation Aide

Position Summary The Rehabilitation Aide plays a critical role in supporting physical and occupational therapists by maintaining a clean, safe, and organized treatment environment, assisting with patient care under therapist supervision, and performing various operational tasks. This role is ideal for proactive individuals who excel at multitasking and thrives in a fast-paced clinical setting. Location Barrington, Illinois Status Full-Time (40 Hours/Week) Days/Hours Monday - Friday (No Weekends) Expected Starting Pay $17 - $20/Hour (based on experience) Education High School diploma or equivalent – required. License/Certification Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 60 days of hire. Experience Any customer service experience preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Strong interpersonal skills. Self-directed and motivated. Must be able to work from detailed verbal or written instructions and uses judgment for routine situations. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to problem solve through a well-defined approach. Strong team orientation. Ability to accomplish multiple tasks and prioritize activities. Essential Job Functions Assist with set up of patient treatment under the direct supervision of a licensed therapist. Cleans all equipment, mats and other items involved in patient care after each patient use according to approved infection control guidelines. Monitor inventory and reorder in a timely manner. Restock treatment rooms/supply closet in a timely manner. Assist with scheduling patients and answering phones when appropriate. Communicates patient needs effectively and establishes a professional relationship with healthcare team. Comply with safety activities, policies and procedures and regulatory requirements such as OSHA and The Joint Commission. Participate in performance improvement activities. Attend and participate in department meetings. Attend mandatory educational programs. Follow established guidelines as stated in hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Employee is responsible for all other duties as assigned for which competency has been demonstrated. Physical requirements This position is classified as Medium Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work. Must be able to pass background check. We also conduct pre-employment TB and drug testing. Any job offer will be contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment TB and drug screen, background check, and obtaining active licensures per job requirements.
