Our friendly environment encourages teamwork and continuing education.Training will be provided for all aspects of this position, but prior urgent care/ specialty experience is preferred.Responsibilities:Obtain a thorough history from pet ownersAssess if a patient is stable and obtain vitals accuratelyAssist veterinarians in routine examinations and proceduresAdminister medications, anesthesia, and monitor patientsCollect and perform in hospital laboratory tests, including bloodworkPrep and maintain sterile technique for procedures and instrumentsPosition pets for radiographs and obtain images with correct technique while following radiation safetyEducate pet owners on diagnosis, care, and post-treatment instructionsCollaborate with fellow team members to provide exceptional patient careContribute to a positive and supportive team environmentQualifications:Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) preferred but not requiredExperience working in an urgent care/ specialty hospital preferred but not requiredProficiency in anesthetic drug administration and monitoringExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong organizational abilities and attention to detailAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced environmentCompassion and empathy for pets and their ownersBenefits:No non-competeStipend towards health, dental, and vision insurance401KGenerous PTO that exceeds the national average and increases with years of serviceContinuing education time off as well as financial allowance towards professional developmentHands-on mentorship from experienced veterinarians and technicians committed to helping you growUniform allowanceGenerous pet care discountPaid CVT license duesPredictable scheduling with no overnight shifts and a commitment to supporting work-life balance
