Role Description The Store Manager role at Calico in Ridgewood, NJ is a full-time, on-site position responsible for overseeing daily store operations and delivering an exceptional customer experience. The Store Manager leads and develops the store team, manages staffing and scheduling, and ensures consistent adherence to company policies and visual merchandising standards. This role includes guiding customers through fabric selection and custom decorating options, supporting in-home consultation services, and coordinating orders for custom window treatments, upholstery, and other home décor products. The Store Manager is accountable for achieving sales goals, managing inventory, monitoring key performance metrics, and maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment. The role also involves building local community relationships, supporting marketing initiatives, and fostering an inclusive, collaborative workplace culture. Qualifications Strong retail store management skills, including leadership, team coaching, scheduling, and performance oversight. Customer service and sales skills with the ability to build rapport, understand customer needs, and close sales in a consultative environment. Experience with merchandising, store presentation, and maintaining brand standards for a premium retail experience. Basic business and operational skills, including inventory management, cash handling, and using POS and retail management systems. Interest or experience in home décor, fabrics, interior design, or custom window treatments, with an eye for color and detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with customers, team members, and design professionals. Ability to work on-site full-time in Ridgewood, NJ, including weekends and holidays as needed. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business, retail management, or design is a plus.
