Mingus Mountain Academy is a residential treatment center for emotionally and behaviorally at-risk adolescent girls that helps them achieve a positive, healthy future. Founded in 1985, the Academy is located on a 120-acre campus surrounded by National Forest, 25 minutes from the town of Prescott Valley, Arizona. Our program combines a positive culture, caring staff, careful medical treatment, individualized psychotherapy and education, and numerous activities, including our unique equestrian program.

The Job

We are seeking talented individuals to help drive the success of youth in our communities. As an RN you will provide oversee the medical department, medication distribution, maintain student files, and train staff as appropriate.

Snapshot of Daily Duties

• Arranges for the ordering of prescription medications in a timely manner.
• Completes med pass in a timely manner
• Follows procedures to prevent medication errors.
• Reports to Nursing Supervisor any medication errors at time of error.
• Keeps count of controlled drugs after each assistance of self-administration of medication.
• Participates as a member of the multi-disciplinary team.
• Participates in management of client's chart
• Provides health services for MMA clients
• Maintains an employee health service.
• Responsible for required documentation and the maintenance of client's medical chart.

The Must Haves

• Graduation from an accredited school of practical/vocational nursing and holds a current Arizona an RN nursing license, in good standing.
• A minimum of two years nursing experience preferred. Previous experience in a psychiatric or adolescent setting is beneficial.
