Senior Java Engineer

Location: 100% Remote
Reason for Opening: Business growth in the Banking/Financial Services sector requiring specialized software engineering for custom software solutions and cloud integration.
Scope & Deliverables: Custom component development, IBM WebSphere portal enhancements, AWS architectural design, cross-team collaboration, and code quality oversight.
Interview Process: Standard multi-stage technical evaluation focusing on core Java development, WebSphere portal design, and AWS cloud architecture hands-on scenarios.
NON-NEGOTIABLES
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
Java (5+ years) Demonstrated background building enterprise-grade custom applications, applying modern design patterns, and writing clean, scalable code.
IBM WebSphere / WebSphere Portal (5+ years) Deep hands-on experience designing, constructing, and maintaining WebSphere application server environments.
AWS Architecture (Advanced / P3 Level) Direct experience designing scalable cloud solutions and integrating AWS infrastructure components.
Banking/Financial Services Domain Experience Industry experience navigating banking environments and requirements.
NICE-TO-HAVES
Strong client communication and stakeholder interaction skills.
Proven experience working within fast-paced Agile/Scrum delivery teams.
Active involvement in guiding, mentoring, or leading technical team members.
DISQUALIFIERS
Less than 5 years of hands-on experience in Java and IBM WebSphere.
Lack of demonstrated AWS Cloud Architecture experience.
Inability to meet core working hours or work effectively in an Agile environment.
