Our client, a well-established law firm with a strong focus on creditors’ rights and bankruptcy matters, is seeking a skilled Bankruptcy Attorney to join their Tennessee-based team. This position offers the opportunity to manage a diverse caseload, work directly with clients, and play a key role in delivering high-quality legal representation across Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 proceedings. Key Responsibilities Represent creditor clients in bankruptcy matters, primarily involving Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases. Draft and review legal documents including motions, objections, proofs of claim, and proposed orders. Appear in court for hearings and proceedings related to bankruptcy cases. Handle mortgage-related mediation matters within bankruptcy proceedings. Manage an assigned portfolio of cases, ensuring deadlines and client expectations are consistently met. Address urgent and escalated matters with sound judgment and efficiency. Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to maintain smooth case workflow and uphold quality standards. Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing clear communication and responsive service. Contribute to team initiatives and support additional projects as needed. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Active license to practice law in Tennessee, in good standing. Admission to the Federal District Courts in Tennessee (or ability to obtain promptly). Must reside in Tennessee. 1–10 years of experience handling bankruptcy matters, with a preference for experience representing creditors or lenders. Working knowledge of Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 procedures; exposure to Chapter 11 or adversary proceedings is a plus. Familiarity with courtroom practices and bankruptcy litigation processes. Strong analytical skills, including comfort working with financial information and case-related data. Core Competencies Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
