Service Technician (Yard / Field)Location: Odessa, TX Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7 AM - 5 PM Pay Rate: $19-$21Position OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and dependable Service Technician to support yard and field operations for a modular building provider in Odessa, TX. This role requires a strong construction background, with a preference for HVAC experience, and hands-on ability to inspect, repair, and prepare modular units for customer use. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesInspect modular units and determine scope of repairs for incoming and outgoing unitsPerform general construction and maintenance work, including: Framing and finish carpentryDrywall patching and repairFlooring installation and repairInterior and exterior paintingLight electrical and basic plumbing repairsPerform HVAC inspections, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance as requiredComplete yard-based service work and assist with field service calls when neededDocument damages, completed repairs, and unit readiness statusEnsure units meet quality standards and are ready for scheduled deliveryMaintain proper inventory of tools, parts, and materialsSafely operate company vehicles and equipment when assignedComplete service documentation accurately and on timeMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work areaFollow all safety, environmental, and operational proceduresTools & Equipment UsedConstruction and maintenance hand toolsPower toolsHVAC diagnostic tools (as applicable)Painting and drywall repair equipmentComputer or tablet for inspections and documentationQualifications & RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED requiredConstruction experience required (modular, residential, or commercial preferred)HVAC experience strongly preferred (certification not required)Carpentry experience required; electrical, plumbing, and welding experience a plusAbility to work independently in a fast-paced environmentBasic computer skills and effective communication abilitiesValid driver's license with a clean driving record requiredAbility to perform physical work, including lifting, bending, standing, and working outdoorsBenefits (employee contribution): Health insurance, Health savings account, Dental insurance, Vision insurance, Flexible spending accounts, Life insurance, Retirement planAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
